Front vs side mounting —
what’s the difference?
The mounting type is the way your blind fixes to the structure it’s fitting into. Use the diagrams below to choose the option that suits your opening.
The mounting type is the way in which the blind will mount to the structure it’s fitting into. This can either be a front mount or side mount (most popular).
Side mounting (most popular)
Side mounting is most popular and the easiest to install. The blind is installed between the walls or posts of the opening, with the side tracks fixed to the inside surfaces.

Front mounting
Front mounting is often used when side mounting is not available. In this setup, the side tracks are fixed to the front face of the wall or structure, rather than inside the opening.

Which should I choose?
Side mount is most popular — but your structure decides
If you have solid walls or posts on both sides of the opening, side mounting is often the cleanest fit. If you don’t have side walls, front mounting lets the tracks fix to the face of the wall instead.
